Vice President of College Success –
Ralph Johnson

As Vice President of College Access and Success, Ralph manages college access and persistence strategies for the Democracy Prep network. He is an active participant and former board member of the College Access Consortium of New York (CACNY) and is a member of the Coalition Counselor Community of the Coalition for Access, Affordability, and Success.

Prior to Democracy Prep, Ralph was an AmeriCorps program director and director of the College Advising Corps (CAC) at Brown University. He is on the board of First Workings and an associate member of the Association of Black Admissions and Financial Aid Officers of the Ivy League and Sister Schools (ABAFOILSS).

He has served on the board of the Rhode Island Urban Debate League and coordinated the Providence chapter of the Brotherhood Sister Sol. Ralph holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Ethics from Brown University and a Master of Public Administration from Baruch College. He is a Harlem native and currently lives in the Bronx with his wife Leora and three daughters: Maya, Tamar, and Ramona.
