Democracy Prep Charter High School opened in August 2009 to three cohorts of ninth grade scholars who matriculated from Democracy Prep Charter Middle School. More than 90% of scholars have passed every Regents Exam ever administered, including Integrated Algebra, Living Environment, Geometry, Chemistry, and Global History. For the first time ever, New York State will see the restructuring and turnaround of a persistently low-performing charter school. Democracy Prep was approved to bring our proven academic program to the students attending the school formerly known as Harlem Day, starting in August 2011, to put them on the path to college and citizenship.

Opening in 2012
The New York State Education Department approved Democracy Prep Public Schools to open its third middle school in Fall 2012. We will be accepting applications for the inaugural sixth grade starting this fall.
