Nicholas Chapman, 8th Grade History Mr. Chapman attended University of New England and received a BS in History and secondary education. He taught high school at the Landmark school in Beverly MA, which focuses on high level intellect students with language based learning disabilities. Additionally, Mr. Chapman was assistant coach for the men's basketball team at Endicott College from 2006-2009 and the co-founder of East Coast Academic Center, which assisted individuals with language based learning disabled students achieve their academic potential.  

Jamie Jenkins, 9th Grade History Ms. Jenkins is a proud native of Dallas, Texas.  After receiving a full academic scholarship, she attended Clark Atlanta University where she was heavily active in the community and campus as a freshman mentor, Chapter President of the NAACP, and member of the University’s Royal Court.  Upon graduating Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in History, she became the first in her family to receive a college degree.  Ms. Jenkins began her teaching career in Atlanta as a World History and African History Teacher and also served as Pageant Director/Coordinator and Sponsor of the R.O.L.E. Models organization.  She is currently completing her Master Degree in Teaching with a National Board Certified Teacher Leadership Specialization through National University.  Now a member of Democracy Prep’s DREAM Team, she is ecstatic, appreciative and humbled by the opportunity to serve, build and inspire the scholars of Democracy Prep community!

Deborah Woods, 7th Grade History Ms. Woods was born and raised in Mount Vernon, NY and attended Mount Vernon High School.  While in high school, she played volleyball (her favorite activity), soccer, and swam.  She attended the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a B.A. in Economics with a dual minor in African Studies and Urban Studies.  After graduating, Ms. Woods joined Teach for America and taught in the Bronx at MS 390 for 3 years.  During that time, she earned my MS in teaching from Pace University.
