About the Lottery Process
The lotteries for our schools are held each year in the month of April. Students are given a preference in the lottery if they live in the Community School District in which a Democracy Prep school is located (District 5 for grades 6-12 at Democracy Prep Charter Middle School, Democracy Prep Charter High School, and Democracy Prep Harlem Middle School, Democracy Prep Harlem Middle School III; District 4 for grades K-6 at Harlem Prep Elementary School). Siblings of students at a particular Democracy Prep school are automatically guaranteed a seat at that school. The application deadline for the 2012-2013 school year has passed. Any applications received after this date will be placed on our waiting list.
